Strikes was over on the military reservation at 6:11 am.  

 

Judging from the radar we may see a few more strokes soon.  

 

Thundersnow is confirmed.

I'm guessing around 8" otg. Skywarn gust to 78mph. Parts of downtown flooded. Many parts of the island without power. Wish I could get around. Recovering from hip surgery. Bummer.

What is actually happening with the storm?  Is there still going to be any retrograding or has the heaviest moved as far west as it will?  I understand a push west should be happening now and it does appear to be pushing west a bit.  But do we have a staff or retrograde coming?  Thanks.

700mb circulation is just between MVY/ACK right now.  See if it wobbles west any more.  Pivot baby!

Well it's about 50 miles, and in this system, that's huge!  That's great though, I'm happy for folks that are getting crushed...great storm, just not out this way.

Pretty pissed right now that I changed my reservation last second to Mainsfield lol, I always seem to miss the deformation zone. Been an awesome storm though the winds are sick

Buddy of mine who works at the NWS in Wilmington, NC.  But lived up here just north of Worcester was just messaging me about that.  Thinks they might be able to do it.

Yeah that was not the normal thundersnow.  That was like 4/1/97 to be honest...it was a zapper.   I knew right away.

We have had a few other big flashes and bangs since that confirmed CTG strike...but those were just associated with people driving into poles I think as the power flickered.   In fact 100% those were utility related.
