Onset of blizzard conditions at PWM and RKD, PSM just 1 mph shy.

HOW THESE BANDS EVOLVE TODAY WILL BE CRITICAL TO THE SNOWFALL  

FORECAST AND THIS WILL BE TRICKY. GFS/ECMWF KEEP THE BEST MID  

LEVEL FRONTOGENESIS ACROSS E MA WHILE NAM IS FURTHER WEST ACROSS  

CENTRAL MA INTO CT. NAM SEEMS TO BE HANDLING THIS THE BEST AND  

KEEP THIS BAND IN THE SAME GENERAL AREA BEFORE WEAKENING AND  

MOVING EAST. MEANWHILE...LOW LEVEL CONVERGENCE AND FRONTOGENESIS  

ASSOCD WITH THE COASTAL FRONT ACROSS SE MA WILL RESULT IN A  

SECONDARY MAX IN EASTERN MA INCLUDING CAPE COD WITH OCCASIONAL  

HEAVY SNOW.  

 

WE HAVE ONLY MADE SLIGHT MODIFICATIONS TO THE SNOW ACCUM...  

LOWERING SLIGHTLY IN THE BERKSHIRES AND INCREASING ACROSS CAPE  

COD...ESPECIALLY NEAR THE CANAL. STILL LOOKING FOR MAX SNOWFALL  

ACROSS NE CT THROUGH CENTRAL MA...WITH SECONDARY MAX ACROSS E MA  

TO THE CAPE COD CANAL. AROUND 2 FT EXPECTED IN THIS AREA...LOCALLY  

30-36 INCHES POSSIBLE WHERE PERSISTENT BANDS SET UP. LESSER  

AMOUNTS IN BETWEEN BANDS.

Heavy snow.  15F.  So hard to measure, but about 10-12" new so far.

 

I just need that mega band to drift west about 10 miles and we'll be golden.

Currently here in Harwich, MA snow with a temp of 30.5F, winds howling, don't know the wind speed, snowfall amount of 13.3" at 416am EST.  I had to take a nap so I did for 4 or 5 hours.  Fire-hose of moisture increasing to the southeast of MA and RI.

Heavy snow in Dracut. This band on radar seems to look like it is intensifying.

NWS no longer forecasts a change to rain today, high of 33F, we might not even get above freezing today.  Storm is more east than originally thought.  NWS upped snowfall amounts over my house to 18-24".  Amazing, I wouldn't be surprised to see 30-36" amounts on the Cape.  Especially near the Canal.

Looks like Chelmsford, Carlisle, Billerica is absolute ground zero for that band.

No it's east..Instead of 4 inches per hour like earlier..it's more like 2..It won't make it back this far NW again..but it may help keep me on the edge of some good echoes
