I was wondering about that!

That Is a key ingredient for obscene  totals in Boston .....

I was trying to load my fav meso model for CF stuff but the 4KM BTV WRF at 12z won't load for me

Dick Albert (remember him old weenies) is Chuckin em' on Harvey's Twitter

"This storm could be top 5 in Boston.

In addition more snow later in week.

In addition, some of coldest weather in years in early February."

Me either.

Models are finally seeing the low level convergence near us. Last couple days we had the 'subsidence'.

This is 1978...notch down with regard to cf.

Someone down in se MA wil pull 40"

The snow in the Blizzard of 78, as I remember it, was much heavier/wetter than we're going to see in this one. I know you know that. Big difference between cleaning up 30" of heavy wet snow and 30" of powder. :)

The stuff you read about from days of yore.

Scooter safe and sound at home tomorrow

Governor Dan Malloy ‏@GovMalloyOffice  20m

ICYMI: Gov. Malloy signed a State of Emergency declaration earlier this morning in preparation for the coming storm http://www.governor.ct.gov/malloy/cwp/view.asp?Q=559968&A=4010

what is so special about 5:02? why not 5:00  or 5:04?

The Governor will update the public at 5:02 p.m. this evening on the impending storm from the state Emergency Operations Center in Hartford.  The Governor is also encouraging people to monitor the media for up-to-date information on the storm.

Yikes do we have to be old to remember Dick Albert?

Thanks so much guys...I've got to go get some shi* done....I was hedging on taking the generator out of the box.   Time to get the gas, and to get it ready.  WTF!

Scott - I don't know....this may be worse than 2005 if we can hang onto snow.  Those OES bands at the end last longer.

Make sure that your electrical connections are safe. When we put in our generator years ago the electrical work was nearly as expensive as the generator.

Riding the Euro full steam ahead with this one. It's consistency in bringing big snows into W MA and W CT along with it's solid track record with cold season East Coast storms is hard to ignore.

We'll probably get into a dendrite filled deformation band that slowly rots away during the day tomorrow. While the 30"+ plot that someone posted is probably a bit overdone, a solid 20"+ is a decent bet.
