The 4 Seasons
I mean this is going to be amazing...I know I saw one two years ago...but for someone who enjoys the snow & the wind...it really is something to see & experience...for the weather fan...as good as it gets. +1! I missed Feb 13, grateful for this one.
Guest Pamela
The 12Z SPC WRF actually sort of sees this band, hard to tell if its the same feature, but it looks close. I think the 12z Canadien also had it on the animated loop moving in at 18z.

The 4 Seasons
My goodness...if you live in North Haven CT...that was the place to be back then...best of luck here! I know tell me about it. I was watching in awe from California and when reports of 40" started coming in over my area my stomach dropped. Said well, we will never see that again in a lifetime. But here we are two years later. Maybe it works out close to the same, who knows. Best of luck to you. 18/ Light snow outside the wx center, WCSU Danbury

jbenedet
Seems like a mesoscale case of isentropic lift, with the wind perpindicular to the thickness lines from 850 mb to 700 mb... Some orographic forcing as well, may be partially responsible...
Guest Pamela
Gotta give OKX credit for their timing...visibilities & ceilings are rapidly falling...winds at the immediate offshore buoys have some gusts over 30 kts...blizzard conditions are close to setting in over Long Island...they're not here yet...but we're getting close. icebreaker5221
I'm impressed how steady the snow is with this WAA thump, this was supposed to be quite intermittent. Should help with totals when all is said and done, no way the dry GFS verifies.
SnowDemon
The snow is so cold it feels like ice. Streets in Midtown getting covered.
Mitchel Volk
Light to briefly moderate snow here at Beaver St Manhattan during the past hour or so. Looks to me that there is some Frontogentic forcing is occurring. Look at those dew points in southern NJ and south
