I booked it out of manhattan as soon as the ridiculous travel ban was lifted. It was fun being the only vehicle on the road in mid town. People were trying to flag me down for rides!

Way way more snow here in SE Nassau is say. 14" an ripping as good as it did at any point in the city. We have a shot at 20. Also looks more like a blizzard here with good drifting

Awesome, hope you reach 20.

The main issue was the historic forecasts. That set the table. Anything less than historic was going to be a bust. Unfortunately, it was well below historic for most of the area (outside of half of Long Island). If the forecast had been 6-12 city, 3-6 Jersey and 12+ LI it would have been a "fun" storm in a crappy winter.

When the low gets tugged 75 miles east , so does your snow . Sucks but you cant change it .it was a tremendous fail for the western mass portion of box....i mean epic..... they had all of us out here 20 to 30 plus and its 3 to 7.

The low shifted seventy five miles east. It closed off at 6z, reopened, jumped East and then closed off once more. The question becomes as to why. The models saw something that some of us mets did not. Maybe we (those like Upton and myself) just did not want to heed the warnings the models were showing of dry air to the west. However, had the low remained closed off where it originally closed at 6z, this would been taken care of.
