TwcMan
Part of the problem with this storm is it is taking a jog too far east if this loop is accurate http://weather.unisys.com/sat_sfc_map_loop.php That's almost due east on a negatively tilted trough. Confusing

Sparky
Still coming down at a nice clip....certainly gonna need a period of heavier rates to get the totals up...I've been saying 15-20" all day...I'm not feeling that right now...but I'm hopeful How lucky are you? To be in the one sweet spot in all of NYC proper.

LongBeachSurfFreak
Absolute crap in the city. They are plowing wet ground on Broadway. Good thing they closed everything so I can't get home. Super pissed. Just not our storm here. Let's see if we get to a foot
EasternLI
Heaviest of day here as well. A good bit of blowing snow as well so not sure we're +SN. Almost snowing horizontally at times. If your not S+ now, you will be soon, it's moving west. Still dumping right now here

ILoveWinter
Man some people have extreme debbie downer tendencies. Its the beginning of the storm, lets see how the next few hours pan out before we throw in the cards!
WintersGrasp
This is a radar screenshot i took from Feb 24th 2013. THIS is what radar needs to look like to get the insane totals -- most areas in central LI got about 24" to 34" with this band continuously pivoting almost for the entire duration of the snowstorm. I just don't see anything close this happening again. Wow I remember that.....would have loved to experience it. Unbelievable.....it's like a giant slow moving thunderstorm

But still think we could get into the mid 20" range..

ZNSTATED
Definitely seeing larger flakes mixing in with the fine flakes we've being seeing all day Probably 3-4" so far, but getting anything accurate seems futile Drifts starting to mound up, but I also have grass blades showing in the low spots Z
NEG NAO
10 PM Observations - still no heavy snow to the east - visibilities all 1/2 mile or more - winds not an issue yet - no blizzard conditions yet - even though the Blizzard Warning started 9 hours ago http://kamala.cod.edu/nj/latest.asus41.OKX.KOKX.html
