I have to give these stations credit because only they could come up with this..

@ 4 PM LGA had 2.5" new snow and a snow depth of 1 inch

@ 4 PM JFK had 1.8" new snow and a snow depth of 0 inches...

Who knows...maybe they're just putting in the 7 AM ruler in the ground amount in the 4 PM climate summary...

Or maybe its like what the Warden said when the star of the movie escaped in Shawshank..

"Lord, its a miracle!"  Snow up & vanished like a **** in the wind!"

You sure?

LGA metar had this,

SNINCR 1/4

Does that not mean 1" last hour and 4" on ground?

I just took it off the 4PM climate summary on the OKX climate page...who knows for sure...it did have the right amount for the Park.

Its plausible that the inch on the ground was the 7 AM amount and with 2.5 new at 4 PM ...an inch new in the last hour...3.5 would round to 4 and you would report 4 on the ground at 5 PM.
