WinterWxLuvr
We tried that last night. Then try again. I'd rather have a chance. No precip = no chance
Jebman
The most important thing is to get as much precip as possible. Roll the dice with temps. Don't forget the pass odds.

stormtracker
Going by the ****ing forum and models, I can't figure out what we're supposed to be worried about. Temps? Precip..Trof going negative too late..digging...I don't understand wtf is going on with this anymore
Bob Chill
We're less than 24 hours from onset and models are diverging. At least in our area. Notsomuch up north.

HighStakes
not that the Canadian suite is right, but the fact is the temps on the GFS are no where near as cold as they were as recently as last night, soooo Yeah, I've noticed the same thing. They were definitely more extreme in earlier runs.

Well the 534 thickness is right there at DC, so the column is plenty cold enough to mix out the extremely small warm layer.
psuhoffman
ok....good trends so far tonight: the trough is digging more, going negative sooner, and the storm seems to want to bomb further south.... Bad news: the trough backing west is also preventing the temperatures from crashing it seems...not as much on the GFS but a big problem on RGEM/GGEM combo... PhineasC
GGEM always runs warm because it is so cold in Canada they didn't need to worry about programming it for proper surface temp analyses. Every weenie knows that.

HighStakes
You would think with the board being down everyone would be refreshed with needed break. Instead insanity took over.

BaltimoreWxGuy
These models suck...DTK can defend them all he wants, but they cant even remotely get something right 24 hours out. I understand its a difficult pattern with northern stream dominate systems, and pieces of energy off the PAC NW with lack of data issues, but all the players are on the field now and the models still suck..Wheres Albert Einstein when you need him, we need a serious math person for the models...rant over. Precip..Trof going negative too late..digging...I don't understand wtf is going on with this anymore unfortunately all of it.... if the trough is more positive tilted we would have better temperatures but the storm would probably go east...of course that solution might not be so bad if the primary low holds on longer like the solutions a couple days ago.... if the trough is going negative sooner we might get more qpf but the southerly flow before the coastal bombs might create temp issues.... When multiple problems start to show up I get a sinking feeling
osfan24
I'm pretty much all in on a big storm or not really caring what happens. If places from Philly north get buried and we get 6 inches, it's worse to me than us just getting nothing.

So us won't include me this time assuming soul genocide takes place. If we get hit solid then I'll claim first to call it though. I posted all about how it was going to happen when the board was down.

EastCoast NPZ
And to think only a half-hour ago we were lamenting getting only minimal snow while SNE gets buried. Now we lament possibly only getting a little rain. Just shows that when it comes to winter weather here things are never as bad as they're about to be. Lol. clueless
"WTF" is the operative word tonight. Demonstrates x1000 how difficult it is to get snow in the MA. Now, a temp issue? WTF.
