Roads here were pretty rough about an hour and a half ago when driving the gf into work. Looks better now but the side streets a few blocks up from downtown are still solidly snowpacked. Definitely the roughest conditions I've had to travel in this winter.

The melting on contact last evening and then the temp drop into the mid-teens by this morning definitely made for rough road conditions in Bellefonte this morning. Rt 144 just south of town is still pretty bad.

In the last 3 frames on radar there is precip suddenly appearing over Cumberland county and rapidly expanding outward.  Looks like a nuclear bomb went off sending the cloud outward in all directions.

We're back to a steady light snow here...echoes blossoming nicely. Probably shifting/developing bands on and off until early tomorrow AM. Will be interesting radar watching.

Now that I've looked at the regional radar you can see that these new echoes are moving north-northwestward from the south. I think this is evidence that the trough has gone negative. Maybe we have a shot at a few more inches later today?

Band is aimed this way. I've got quarter sized flakes mixed in with the very light snow.

On radar scope the hi-res integrated liquid radar shows the blowing up you were referring to nicely.

With the energy transfer to the developing coastal we should see some bands try to develop throughout the rest of the day.  Yes it is possible at a few more inches, but will have to be lucky enough to have one of these bands develop overhead.  Additional snowfall today around the region will be more scattered than widespread.  HRRR is trying to show some kind of banding, but is all over the place from run to run with locations.

Coming down nicely here as well despite being right on the edge of radar returns

NE winds probably helping to push precip SW of the actual echoes a bit.  Snowing more heavily here than I would have anticipated looking at radar. I guess the cold dry nature of the snow and the smallish flakes account for that.

In Lancaster city proper, it's been lightly snowing all morning. The intensity seems to be picking up. Been reading Accuweather forums and hearing the trough has gone negative more quickly. Guess we need to see if it can wrap in some moisture towards our area. I hope we are all pleasantly surprised today and tomorrow by this storm. We might not get the huge numbers from NY and NE but I think we will get more than what is currently forecasted.
