Your 4" max may be a little low (which I didn't expect)...nice echoes heading up that way. Good stuff..

A lot of that is mix/rain... PHL flipped to plain rain and Mt. Holly is at least mixing if not over to rain (ASOS reporting UP).

Well, have switched over to rain here...still 32F. Measured 1.60" as the rain started mixing in. Would rather have it snowing obviously, but given the uncertainty beforehand, especially down this way, I'm real happy to see the ground solid white, and enjoyed the snow falling. Hope everyone gets a boatload more of snow tonight!

Ray

didn't your buddy JB always say to get the heaviest snow you must smell the rain?  The rain must be getting close as it has been coming down at mighty quick rate over the last couple hours....

He may have, not sure.  Its something I've noticed.  Probably due to the greater warm advection/isentropic lift going on as the warmer air surges in.

christmas lights on (one remaining tree just for these occasions)

Yes!!

We do that too - looks great when it's snowing and with the snow on the ground. When the deer walk by it looks like a Christmas card.
