Ralph Wiggum
12z NAM takes it out to sea, big storm for the fish. You "shore" about that? I will be in Cape May Monday and it doesnt look out to sea to me.
The Iceman
You "shore" about that? I will be in Cape May Monday and it doesnt look out to sea to me. The majority of that looks to be from the clipper, not the coastal.
RedSky
After a decent 6z GFS run for the area 12z tracks the low through north Carolina and pops coastal off Hatteras. Heaviest snow south of DC.
RedSky
In 30 hours we went from a low track overhead to north Carolina. I'd say clippers trend south this winter...

bluehens
I think it comes north a bit from what is being depicted now but still think best snows stay south of the area....that has definitely been the trend so far this winter.
Heisy
After this mornings 6z GFS I had my hopes up for a 6" storm but todays 12z GFS put the nail in the coffin for me. Not saying we couldnt get an inch or two out of it, but a SECS is off the table. That being said the pattern looks very good in the LR id be shocked if we didnt get a 6" storm by season end

RedSky
ECM has the south track like GFS, weak and disorganized. No super clipper for the southern folks more like .25 qpf

hazwoper
18Z GFS says THIS is the system you were looking for.... Nice looking clipper, but I suppose like all clipers it will continue to dry up on the models as we approach. Yup

Ralph Wiggum
Any chance this storm can redevelop off Hatteras and head NNE instead of ENE?

Sophisticated Skeptic
It still looks potentially interesting on 18z GFS. It's odd how this 1024 High Pressure....is gettin squeeze-played by everything around it. And could help weaken the High....thus, increasing the chances of some further north development. strange also to have 2 separate clipper systems so close to each other. Heisy
It is the progressive nature of the pattern. The vorticity is trying to round the bend but A) there is no blocking & there is energy on its heels that isn't allowing it turn the corner thus it kind of meanders SE off the coast. Another what could have been storm though we could still cash in a few inches

LVblizzard
New England got NAM'd like crazy this morning. Widespread 2-4 feet. Looks like a 3-6" storm for most of this region on the same run.

RedSky
NAM has 3-6" just from shrapnel from the developing Manitoba mauler bomb. GFS also with a couple. Snow on snow would be great.
Morch Madness
If you believe the Canadian, it's possible for a rogue band or two to hit the area in the storm's genesis. I would not be shocked to see it come further west and put Philadelphia back in the ballgame for heavy snow

Anyone else noticing how low the pressure is right now.... now my home barometer shows 29.23 and falling I know that can't be right considering National Weather Service has 29.49 at the Airport and Weatherunderground showing 29.44 in Media??? what gives!! Or is this a sign of something bigger coming?? Also noticing some precip rain snow etc breaking out in DC and west of Baltimore.
