* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY WET SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 5 TO 8 INCHES...WITH UP TO

A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE ACROSS NORTHERN NEW HAVEN AND NORTHERN

FAIRFIELD COUNTIES.

* VISIBILITY...ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.

* SNOWFALL RATES...1 INCH PER HOUR EARLY SATURDAY MORNING INTO

MID SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

* TEMPERATURES...AROUND 30.

* TIMING...SNOW BEGINS LATE TONIGHT. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL BE

EARLY SATURDAY MORNING INTO SATURDAY AFTERNOON. SNOW TAPERS OFF

IN THE EVENING.

* IMPACTS...TREACHEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED DUE TO A

Nice hit for Berkshires on the 18z NAM. Looks like a widespread 6"+ event here, and now that we're within 24 hours, the NAM has more credibility. Me likey. 

 

You can see why, too... the H7 low is over the Berkshires.

Box is going with the Euro. What a surprise!

BOX P&C is 3-5"+<1" at BOS, but a couple miles SW IMBY they have 3-7"+<1". Pretty tight gradient on their map and in the P&C.

 

Map seems to be a slightly warmer version of the EURO. Looks like they tossed the GFS but awaiting the AFD to be sure.

Oh good, what is good for you is usually good for me although you get more this time.  I wonder if the increasing warm air aloft creates some sort of frontogenesis further north and therefore some banding in the interior?  Also how do we figure ratios?  Is it about getting ideal temps in the snow growth zone?  I might try to do an analysis if I know what to look for.

Perhaps.  With the sharp cut-off that's depicted, you could wind up with 5" and me with 2-3. If the cutoff is less dramatic or further NW, we'll get some more.
