STORM WARNING FOR SNOW AND ICE...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT

TONIGHT TO 6 PM EST SATURDAY. THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS NO

LONGER IN EFFECT.

* LOCATIONS...PUTNAM...NORTHERN FAIRFIELD...AND NORTHERN NEW

HAVEN.

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY WET SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 5 TO 8 INCHES...WITH UP TO

A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE ACROSS NORTHERN NEW HAVEN AND NORTHERN

FAIRFIELD COUNTIES.

* VISIBILITY...ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.

* SNOWFALL RATES...1 INCH PER HOUR EARLY SATURDAY MORNING INTO

MID SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

* TEMPERATURES...AROUND 30.

* TIMING...SNOW BEGINS LATE TONIGHT. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL BE

EARLY SATURDAY MORNING INTO SATURDAY AFTERNOON. SNOW TAPERS OFF

IN THE EVENING.

* IMPACTS...TREACHEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED DUE TO A

Its 16hrs out if its ever going to be right

Oh good, what is good for you is usually good for me although you get more this time.  I wonder if the increasing warm air aloft creates some sort of frontogenesis further north and therefore some banding in the interior?  Also how do we figure ratios?  Is it about getting ideal temps in the snow growth zone?  I might try to do an analysis if I know what to look for.

I'm actually thinking 4-6" out here now.

 

Perhaps.  With the sharp cut-off that's depicted, you could wind up with 5" and me with 2-3. If the cutoff is less dramatic or further NW, we'll get some more.

 

Serious side pipe going in that....
