Damage In Tolland
Lol...RGEM is basically isothermal at th height of it...look how close it is for the mid-levels...where it's heaviest is has sub-0C 850 temps. That is a thing of beauty..

CT Valley Snowman
I would probably go with the general 3-6 until you get to Central ORH County and points north east. 6Z gfs and Nam high-res where meh, increasing the taint and it looked like the rgem back off a little bit on snowfall as well in Connecticut. weathafella
The totals in this system in most winters would be on the mundane side. This year it's the biggest storm of the season so far for many.
Damage In Tolland
The quicker timing of this will help the Monday storm for areas farther north in NE who might be worried about not getting any snow
MaineJayhawk
I'll take it. As will I. I saw one map from a Portland station that gave snow only to the coastline counties. That was likely before the 00z models were out though. #KeepInflating
powderfreak
The totals in this system in most winters would be on the mundane side. This year it's the biggest storm of the season so far for many.As speculated a lot, SNE would still be able to rattle off a few 4-8"/6-12" type events in Feb/Mar despite the futility concerns a few days ago.But I don't know if these totals would be mundane in most winters, it's still high end advisory and low end warning which is a nice hit. The 12-24" events don't grow on trees like it may seem like lately.

CT Valley Snowman
well that particular simulation did show that isothermal band going right down close to Tolland but in general it looked ugly to me as well. look at how cranked up that low in Canada looks compared to the ragged warm look of the coastal low pumping up that warm air aloft. codfishsnowman
the graphic on twc where the high moves out right on q and the quebec low moves in up on eastern canada is nauseating.....and its spot on this time
moneypitmike
I am not asking this from the point of view of a qpf-fetishist. Am I correct that the track, and qpf-shield (amounts and expanse) are set pretty firmly and that the big question now is really how far inland taint gets? The placement of that in this system has less to do with uncertainty of track than with lack of a cold-air source. A top performer of the season for many, taint and ratios be damned. Enjoy!! It just gets so freaking old..Everyday he comes in here accusing me of lying about temps,,about not looking at models etc etc.. It's going to snow tomorrow and maybe ice for a time.. Why shouldn't I be excited about it? It's our first storm since Thanksgiving.

I'm excited about a general 4-8 inch snowfall for quite a few of our posters who have suffered thru a pretty miserable stretch. This year..for me personally..I'm looking forward to it.
