jamesnichols89
Scott, next week's storm looks a whole lot better for us on the coastal plain, just hope it doesn't go poof.
CoastalWx
Scott, next week's storm looks a whole lot better for us on the coastal plain, just hope it doesn't go poof. First storm is fine for many on the CP, esp near and NW of BOS, but the second is nice for all including far western areas.
Randy4Confluence
I don't see how it is avoided unless it wraps up big time and tracks over and not west of the bm. Euro and cmc have it inside the bm while gfs is east of that. I think you may well get buried. I expect a plowable snow but heavy rain at the height. If you're still up for driving, save me a seat. I am about to board that train as well, I'll gladly give up my 2-4 for a better outcome for everyone on the 2nd.

Damage In Tolland
I liked to see we moved towards more of a wet, pasty snow..Something that has some meat and potatoes to it
CoastalWx
Hi res euro keeps Boston near 32 with some really good banding in eastern areas from the 850 low. That would certainly help.

ORH_wxman
Well I don't think this storm is going poof...so we will hope to get as much from this as possible...next week will have to deal with it. I wonder if there is actually a period of pellets to the pike on some of these solutions because below 850 stays pretty cold before everything crashes SE. Of course it won't go poof, but it's disappointing because it screws a big widespread event next week. Instead it's a narrow area of 8-10". CoastalWx
So do you mean that because of the Saturday snow..the Monday night storm only hits SE areas? Monday storm may be a total whiff except for James posting hundreds of times about OES. The euro may have a small window for something light, but it won't be easy to do if Saturday turns out to be a very strong low.
weathafella
The Saturday systems going to be a big storm. Hope to get as much as you can from that one. If it happens, next major threat is probably Super Bowl Sunday.

CT Rain
Damn the GFS is toasty for MBY. Pretty close to a blue bomb but I didn't expect those BUFKIT profiles off the 6z run to look as warm. Even a weak little high over QC would go such a long way.

CT Rain
Hopefully the GFS has found a nut Looking at BUFKIT for IJD you're basically above freezing from 800 to 950 during the meat of the storm. It cools below 0c at 00z through the column but after 00z only an additional 0.20" of liquid falls. So yes, you do flip to snow but a lot of that is rain beforehand.
