TauntonBlizzard2013
Too many things could go wrong Saturday. I wouldn't get excited yet. I'm definitely not. We've failed multiple times already from this range this winter. If something similar is showing up 00z Friday, then maybe we have something
SnowGoose69
NavGEM a miss over 38N/70W...NAM west and amped, for the first time this winter every model is doing what you'd expect...something has to go wrong doesn't it?

ORH_wxman
NavGEM a miss over 38N/70W...NAM west and amped, for the first time this winter every model is doing what you'd expect...something has to go wrong doesn't it? You'd expect the Euro to be slightly west of the GFS and then it's back to 2005-2011 again.

SR Airglow
Well It's not that it may miss...but there is very little room for error for you and I in terms of temps. To be all snow yes, but I think there's a decent amount of wiggle room to get say advisory accumulations on the back end as the storm deepens and pulls away, and given what we've seen so far I think we'd be happy with that, I know I would. Ginx snewx
That 2nd system is a slow moving stemwinder.Dr J, some one told me 2011 was not walking in the door nor was 2005 but I will be godarned if the GFS doesn't show both. Of course it's not to be taken verbatim but the irony of the twins gang bang is not to be ignored.

SnowGoose69
GGEM is 981 off Boston at 96 hours...it appears to be far west before that so many may go rain to heavy snow, cannot really tell.

FRWEATHA
For those of us that aren't mets and need sleep for our non-met jobs what is a summary of of the upcoming pattern? It sounds very good.
SR Airglow
While there's still plenty of time for it to go wrong, this is 90 hours out, not 190. It's much more realistic than some of the other threats we've seen at this lead time. GGEM way NW of the 12z run, probably going to start as rain for a lot of folks before flipping to heavy snow but it's hard to tell from the blackandwhites. Edit: Nope, all snow and lots of it. WinterWolf
I don't think anybody is high giving..nor should they be at this point. I think it's just more of a case of blowing off a lil steam at the nice looking run or two of the modeling. Things can still go way wrong here.. I think everybody knows that though. We can enjoy the look for the time being.
powderfreak
Man day 7 on the GFS unloads too on New England. Gonna be some fun model watching coming up. Long way to go on that one, so anything's game but good stuff for you guys.
