jamesnichols89
I'm waiting until the 00z EURO as well, watching the Patriots game, but I have a feeling the EURO is going to show something pretty, I'm not convinced the GGEM ever will. ORH_wxman
Yeah agreed Scott. Euro did look a little better 12z so the recent trends in guidance since then have been encouraging but there is still work to do. Need to get more than the NAM and SREFs on board
Baroclinic Zone
Lol at the mini nuke from the 18z NAM
The 4 Seasons
00Z NAM looks more similar to the 18Z run than 12Z. Still a nice hit for SNE out through 75 hrs.
CT Valley Snowman
Little sheared at the end of the run but decent. Solid 2-5 type event as portrayed by the NAM for many.
TauntonBlizzard2013
Nam is okay. Not the nuke it had at 18z, but pretty similar track and look. Verbatim, general 1-3, maybe 4 far SE areas

TauntonBlizzard2013
Sref plumes are comical. The mean is pretty impressive for SE areas. Has a member giving 25" lolz

chietanen
They are dog ****. Please don't fall for the SREFS. There was a storm last winter that had my area somewhere around 15-20" for a mean and we received a dusting. Just looked it up, it was 1/21-22. SREF mean was as high as 18" the day before the event. jamesnichols89
Wow, the NAM is 1.25-1.50" of QPF for Cape Cod and Nantucket, MA and all you are saying is 4" for SE areas. Come on people.
jamesnichols89
Models are beginning to shear out the first shortwave disturbance and are keying in on the second disturbance. Its a strengthening disturbance through the flow, so it can soon close off at H5 if trends continue.

What? NAM sucks in the 36-60 hour time frame, is laughable beyond. And gfs coming in flatter....nary a flake to Cape Cod,MA.

HoarfrostHubb
James, of anyone in SNE gets 4" I will wear a Patriots cheerleader uniform and post a pic of me on here I hope you are right but am very doubtful
jamesnichols89
NAM does not suck in the 36-60 hour range, it sucks beyond 48 hours. Plus the GFS is notorious for underplaying northern stream energy, and is quite progressive even during a progressive regime. SO I like the NAM look right now. Again it can change its mind, but trends are clearly there.
ORH_wxman
That's still a real close call on the GFS.

I know this isn't the easiest of patterns for modeling, but come on.
