CT Valley Snowman
Models are horrible with low level temps in these events sometimes. They consistently warm the boundary layer too quickly, particularly in lower elevations.

WIth negligible warm advection at the sfc not sure why people are shocked it's icy.

I'm not shocked at all I almost expect it in our location in the valley but why does it seem like certain forecasters, and I'm not talking about you, always seem to downplay it and than issue advisories at the last second. CoastalWx
Kevin, may be one of those deals where the low sort of traverses east or maybe a bit north of east along the front before rocketing north in the GOM. Probably over CT and MA and then Maine.

OceanStWx
Yeah - of all the tough freezing rain/drizzle forecasts this one wasn't that bad. Giant red flag when NWP is spitting out broad areas of 0.01" QPF. That is QPF you should worry about when temps are in the 20s.
