kcones88
Sleeting like I've never seen before in my life. Every surface covered, cars incased in ice... This is pretty wild.

Edit: actually it looks like more sleet than rain now.

PrinceFrederickWx
I gotta admit, this is an impressive sleet fest.
SnowtoRain
Looks to be about 0.5" of sleet accumulation in Easton, maybe slightly more. Still sleeting, storm looks to be ending soon. Pretty much as expected for this area.

SnowtoRain
Just shoveled, probably about 0.5" sleet on paved surfaces and 1.0" sleet on grass. Light freezing mist now. Overall not a bad storm, would have liked a few inches of snow, but I was lucky enough to see some heavy snow fall at 5 am and coat everything, albeit briefly. csnavywx
Got above freezing for a few hours this afternoon, but now back below with a moderate freezing drizzle. Tonight and tomorrow might get nasty with wave 2 in SoMd.

PrinceFrederickWx
Southern Calvert and St. Mary’s seemed to get a lot more ice than central Calvert. Driving down 2-4 to California early this morning looked like a forest of glass. Lots of downed tree branches- I can see why there were power outages.

Yeah, it was almost pure freezing rain down here and very dependent on wet-bulbing effects due to borderline temps. Tree tops and anything exposed is absolutely loaded with ice and anything close to the ground only has a glaze. Not uncommon to see near-surface objects have only a tenth of an inch but have half an inch of accretion several feet up. Shave off a degree on this storm and it would have been a disaster here. That being said, it was a very pretty drive in today with the overnight hoarfrost that grew on the ice.
PrinceFrederickWx
I was talking with someone much older than me who's lived in Calvert County a long time, and she said there was a really bad ice storm in 2001 for Southern MD. Anyone who lived here at the time know if this is true? I'm not sure if she has the right year, but she said she's NOT confusing it with the 1994 one. I was living in Glen Burnie at the time and that winter was a dud up there. (tagging @Wxdavis5784 since I think you were living around here at the time?)

I grew up in Charlotte Hall right at the northern tip of St. Mary’s County. Nothing sticks out, we’ve had a plethora of ice storms over the years and some were worse than others. NOTHING COMPARES TO 94. Everything in comparison to me is Busch League.
