Polar Vortex 2014
Good thing this isn't hitting at rush hour. What a nightmare that would be.
colonel717
Ahhh yes the dreaded suppression track. Looks like that cold air drilling in could turn this into a slider. Good thing this is 3-4 days away. Atleast we have the GFS on our side. I am worried that the Euro is gonna be suppressed, usually it is really amped up. Oh well, its like an ice skating rink out there now. Any snow map for CMC I couldn't find one.

north pgh
Some schools are dismissing early. Can't believe this isn't getting talked about more here. A lot more pink on radar. Temps aren't moving much. Wouldn't shock me if we get more ice then anything today. Sent from my iPhone I never understand this early dismissal. It is icy in the last hour so let's send the buses out into the ice. After 2:00 the temp is up and the roads are wet. Why even do it?

Rdd9108
This is going according to plan. It will switch to rain and then snow as it gets darker and the cold front moves in. Why pull the kids out of school while its icy if its just gonna warm up by the time they get out anyway??

north pgh
We went from this 0z To this 12z in 12 hours. The low went about 400 miles south in one run. Look for it to come back north tonight. I think we are in a good spot but after what happened in New York City recently I wouldn't hold my breath until the storm is here on Sunday. Polar Vortex 2014
Looks like heavier returns moving into southwestern Pennsylvania. Wonder if dynamic cooling will help us squeak out some snow flakes.
psunate1977
Roads out east are a slushy mess. Left work to go get the little one and I honestly understand the early dismissal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Polar Vortex 2014
Looking at some webcams, it looks like the precipitation is defying the warm temps aloft. East Liverpool is getting snow right now, with roads covered.

Temps aren't moving much. Wouldn't shock me if we get more ice then anything today. Sent from my iPhone Its 36 in Greensburg, we had a very short shot at some light \moderate snow, and now its rain. Sidewalks are a bit slick that haven't been treated but otherwise not much happening in my location, just plain rain. Sounds like other places are getting hit a bit harder. Polar Vortex 2014
Youngstown reported one inch of new snow in the last hour. I can believe it. Looked like very heavy snow on webcam. Roads covered. What's even more incredible is the snow didn't begin until 12:15 PM, so that one inch occurred in 36 minutes! RitualOfTheTrout
I never understand this early dismissal. It is icy in the last hour so let's send the buses out into the ice. After 2:00 the temp is up and the roads are wet. Why even do it? Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. By 3:00pm roads will be just wet as the temp gets over 32 and the road crews have time to salt if necessary. Things are going to improve as the afternoon goes along, not get worse.
