KPITSnow
I agree, my post wasn't to discount everyone's reports, just to clarify I think sometimes these reports are wrong either intentionally or just ignorance of the person measuring. I apologize. I really only bicker with one person, and I think that person purposely under reports for whatever reason.

RitualOfTheTrout
Cant say I am surprised this underperformed for MBY. Looking ahead, models back to picking up weekend storm. One of these will get MBY with over 4 inches.... Boston looks to be the jackpot area again. They could pull off a Buffalo type of situation if this verifies. Reduced 38% 1024 x 780 (92.04K) That is not a bad look, I wonder how much of that is from the Thursday-Friday clipper though? The GFS and Euro had been holding a low in the southern stream cutoff the last couple of runs which in turn caused the Ground Hog Day potential to be completely northern stream driven. This is always said to be a bias of the Euro (doesn't mean its always wrong though) and I wonder if the GFS since its upgrade may do the same. Would be nice to see how the old GFS handled it just to get an idea if a possible bias was in play or not. Anyways, depending when \ if that eject and how it interacts with the northern stream will determine the track we see. Another words, all eyes to the baja low for the potential storm to start Feb. I the meantime, its snowing now, and we have another clipper to get through end of the week.

The GFS shows about 1-4 for the clipper.

dj3
Yeah, I'm in New Ken, right across for the Giant Eagle and I measured about 2.75-3 inches this morning before I left for work so I find it hard to believe someone got 5 unless they are including the 1-3 that was still on the ground in most places prior to the start of the storm. Hard to imagine a band that localized, but I guess its possible. Yea I was thinking it had to be depth and not new snow. We got close to 3 inches overnight but it has been snowing steadily all day and we will probably end up close to 5 if not 6 inches by the time things wind down. I was skeptical that we would actually get close to 6 with the light snow rates last night but it has been persistent thus far today.

Stinkbugspecialist
That's the thing. Some people get under the great bands and some don't. Remember 2010. Some people had a foot less than others. I want this clipper to give us 6 inches.then weekend storm 1-2 ft. Then 2 weeks to play in it. Then. Spring. But in that order.......another 1-3 today on top not a bad little storm

psunate1977
Anyone tracking the NE storm? Based on the EURO, Boston is going to shoveling for days. LOL 1.2" QPF for a 6 hour period. Holy Crap.

RitualOfTheTrout
Here is a Euro Map for the the next 180 hours. It's hard to say whats what, but it looks like the 12z Euro today is SE like the CMC for the Feb 1-2 storm. Needing a storm to trend North 6-7 days out is not necessarily a bad place to be, I'm just happy to see its still possibly in the cards.
