Metrowest folks might wake up to a surprise couple of tenths if that band can hold. No desire to go out and measure at this hour but there's definitely measurable snow OTG in Roxbury Crossing.

It's going to. NAM has honestly had best handle on this from what I saw. Checked HRRR/RAP/WRF etc.. NAM was bullish for around here.

New GFS did well too which is important to note. Impressive for a smaller scale event as a global to latch on somewhat accurately.

THROUGH 7 AM/12Z...WEATHER MAP SHOWS HIGH PRESSURE EXTENDING FROM

THE MARITIMES THROUGH THE APPALACHIANS. LOW PRESSURE WELL OFFSHORE

WITH AN INVERTED TROUGH EXTENDING UP ACROSS GEORGES BANK INTO THE

GULF OF MAINE. MEANWHILE THE RIGHT ENTRANCE REGION OF THE NORTHERN

JET LIES OVER THE MASSACHUSETTS COAST AND OFFSHORE WATERS.

MODELS SHOW THE INVERTED TROUGH MOVING CLOSER TO THE MASS COAST

OVERNIGHT. WITH SUPPORT FROM THE UPPER JET THIS WOULD MEAN

INCREASED SYNOPTIC LIFT APPROACHING EASTERN MASS. THIS SHOULD

MAINTAIN LIGHT SNOW/DRIZZLE IN SOUTHEAST MASS AND POSSIBLY

BORDERING SECTIONS OF RI. ALSO HAVE SOME CONCERN ABOUT ADDITIONAL

BANDS MOVING INTO THE NORTH SHORE COMMUNITIES AS THE TROUGH

APPROACHES LATER TONIGHT. THIS WOULD SET UP LIGHT PCPN MOVING

TOWARD ESSEX-MIDDLESEX-SUFFOLK-NORFOLK COUNTIES TOWARD MORNING.

PCPN AMOUNTS SHOULD BE LIGHT. SO FAR JUST A TRACE IN PLACE OVER

THE REGION. EXPECTING A TRACE TO A COUPLE OF HUNDREDTHS THROUGH

12Z.

ALTHOUGH WE ARE NOT EXPECTING MUCH OF A GLAZE...EVEN TRACE AMOUNTS

WILL BRING SLIPPERY CONDITIONS FOR THE THURSDAY MORNING COMMUTE.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY CONTINUES FOR LIGHT PCPN AND FREEZING

SURFACE TEMPS THROUGH NOON.

CLOUDS IN THE CENTRAL HILLS AND CLEAR IN THE CT VALLEY. WATCHING

ANOTHER BATCH OF CLOUDS MOVING INTO THE BERKSHIRES WHICH COULD

BRING PARTLY CLOUDY CONDITIONS TO THE CT VALLEY.

TODAY...

THE INVERTED TROUGH WILL BE ALONG THE EAST MASS COAST THIS MORNING

WITH THE JET ENTRANCE STILL OVERHEAD. WE WILL CONTINUE TO EXPECT

LIGHT PCPN WITH POTENTIAL FOR SLIPPERY TRAVEL AT THE SURFACE. THE

TROUGH THEN MOVES BACK TO THE EAST BY AFTERNOON AS OFFSHORE LOW

PRESSURE PASSES SOUTHEAST OF US AND MOVES OUT TO SEA. WE CONTINUED

THE WINTER ADVISORY THROUGH NOON BASED ON THIS TIMING.

THE CLOUDS SHOULD THEN SHIFT EAST DURING THE AFTERNOON. EXPECT

MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES IN THE CT VALLEY...MOSTLY CLOUDY IN EASTERN

MASS. WHERE IT WILL BE SUNNY...TEMPS ALOFT SUPPORT MAX TEMPS IN

THE UPPER 20S AND AROUND 30. FARTHER EAST...CLOUDS SHOULD LIMIT

ANY DAYTIME WARMING TO A FEW DEGREES WITH MAX VALUES AROUND 30 IN

THE COASTAL PLAIN AND MID TO UPPER 30S CAPE AND ISLANDS.
