Wow
The lightest of freezing rain overnight. I've seen heavier frosts. Currently 29.
Jon
I usually high tail it on 40 and back roads to school for my 45 min commute...I'm going to be late today it seems. My car is covered in ice here in Garner and I don't have a scraper...but I do have a ice windshield cover and a lock de-icer my mother got me for Christmas...the cover I didn't use obviously. Solak
Everything was wet when I got up at 4:30. Temp is still 32, but since then porch railings and cartop have frozen. porch deck is still wet.
FallsLake
Did not have any issue with the drive into Raleigh. I noticed a definitive line where there was more ice (than not) on Capital Blvd just south of the 540 intersection. (on the trip down) I saw ice on the trees and icicles on the road signs until I hit that line.
WidreMann
Haven't gone outside yet, but looks like a thin glaz on the cars and not much else. Roads are probably slick in places, but based on the car that just flew through the parking lot, my guess is that they're generally fine.
WeatherExperiment
Absolutely nothing in Monroe, NC or on my way in to Uptown Charlotte. It was 31 degrees at 6:50am. Got to work by 7:30am. My 40 minute commute today usually takes an hour or more! If Bill Belichick were a meteorologist, he'd say "We're on to waiting for the next storm." Brick Tamland
Didn't have any problems coming into work at 10:00. I did see there were a lot of wrecks in Raleigh on 540 and 40, but I guess that wasn't enough for Wake County Schools to close for the day, even though the counties around them did. AirNelson39
Dozens of wrecks in and around Henderson. Can't tell you many cars were off the sides of the roads or how many places you could tell where people had gone off the roads. Does anyone know of anywhere that has a good build up on trees? I'd like to head there to get aerials

Solak
Still 32 out. Has been since 11:15 last night. We ended up with .24" total yesterday. Light foggy mist or misty fog now, but what little icing there was has all melted.
Angela T
Sounds like the Roanoke Rapids area got around a tenth of accretion. Trees looking pretty here in Prince George Va about on hour north of Roanoke Rapids. Nice coating of ice. Received .22" of various types of frozen. Still frozen drizzle coming down with temps at 28. JWXnc
Some pictures from northeastern Franklin County, NC. Still 30F outside and drizzling at 1:15PM. More ice than I imagined/expected to visually see, even on the grass.
Isopycnic
Just drove down 40 from Durham to east Raleigh. There seems to be a lot of Ice still left on the trees just east of the airport to just west of Raleigh.

At least somebody got some ice out of this event...after 24 pages of discussion. Thanks, calc! The ground is still white with all the ice on the grass (it looks like a heavy frost), trees are still covered, the porch is still a sheet of ice. It was a decent event here. The roads seem fine, but the landscape is beautiful with all the ice and icicles everywhere. Doesn't look like anything melted much today.

FallsLake
31.1 and actually getting some light freezing rain right now. Was a heavy drizzle but it has picked up recently. Here is the radar out of Raleigh -- see how the returns are picking up north of Raleigh. http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=RAX&product=N0R&overlay=11101111&loop=yes

Coach McGuirk
Probably only about .1in of ice this morning on elevated surfaced. Just west of Williamsburg and east of Richmond got .25in of ice.
Jonathan
Nothing major up my way, probably less than .10 zr, most coming before 11:00pm last night. What did fall stuck, though. Slick porches, but roads were alright this morning. There was a fatal car accident on NC-14 near Eden this morning.

Coach McGuirk
Pretty sure the ice went further west. Friend lives between Williamsburg and Richmond and said it was a big ice storm.
