I definitely have a few keepers I've taken over the past 3 weeks. Yesterday morning was icing on the cake.

Scarlet Pimpernel
Wow! That second ice picture is really cool, A in Z! Great pictures, all. Thanks! Should have added I only cropped those photos and reduced resolution for uploading, no other post-processing. Yes, a lot of good photos in this thread. There's just something about pictures during or right after a heavy snowfall.

Kay
And another one from my backyyard this morning.. snow light.jpg Gorgeous. Nice ice, A in Z. Might I just interject one concept at this juncture... There are serious photographers with real talent here, but IMO the rest of us shouldn't be intimidated to post...or feel awkward getting compliments. Just post 'em! Not suggesting a deluge of blurry grill pics, but there seems to be a lot more shyness this year. I plan to go through mine and post some but too lazy right now. Bodhi Cove
Found this on bayphotosbydonna.com Anyone who travels the Rt 50 area around Kent Narrows in the summer has surely see the nest this guy builds on the highway sign. He arrived yesterday. It's SPRING!!!
WxUSAF
That's a great pic, but I fairly sure Ospreys are year-round residents.
snowfan
They migrate out of the area to the south and even central and south america. Not too common to find them here in the winter. March is when they usually return.

Bodhi Cove
Wow, Feb is early. Must have been an older male. They arrive first to set up the nest for their mate. The adults begin migrating South in mid August, with their offspring departing a couple weeks later.
Kay
I haven't seen ospreys, but keeping an eye out. Going through my backlog. This is 1/6. At 2.25" and the first snowfall to top .25", it was so precious and wonderful I became enraptured with the sight of my crappy pile of old logs (and neighbor's pier). nw baltimore wx
2/13. Reposting from somewhere in an obs thread. 2-13-2015.JPG I love that picture. Back in the 70's when the bay and tributaries froze, I remember there were a lot of piers that got pushed up by the ice. They looked like something out of a Fun House. Have you, or any others, noticed anything similar this year?

Have you, or any others, noticed anything similar this year? Not near me, that I know of. I've seen that happen in Baltimore. The pier in many of my pics has been damaged in past years but not quite to the fun-house level. That first pic is amazing, MiddleRvr - love it. ThePhotoGuy
It was great seeing the Ospreys back at Fort Smallwood Park today. This osprey caught its dinner and then was chased around by 4 Gull's.
Bodhi Cove
Photoguy, I'm not sure who got better capture, you or the Osprey. All the pictures in that series are wonderful! Especially the gulls chasing Mr. O. I'm still waiting for Hector (then his mate Hannah) to arrive imby.
