IsentropicLift
I know. Great event here. 2"-3" of snow in only 2 hours. Roads and main highways are a disaster. Rates were same as any MECS/HECS. Yes I agree, it was a nice little event, but with very poor timing. Most of the roads out here are horrendous and my commute was double what it normally is. Rjay
If this would last a few hours we would be in business. As it stands by far best event of the year here. Down 1/10 mile again maybe less I don't want to be dramatic and say white out but it's ripping Yea I'm back to sn+ with 1/4 mile vis.

You can just imagine how that went.

snywx
This was a win for the RGEM and mostly for the NAM although the NAM waivered for a run or two before catching back on. The GFS/GGEM/Euro all failed pretty badly. People don't want to trust the NAM but its higher resolution really gives it an advantage in these setups. It even out did the high res Euro. RGEM was a big win for sure.. It pretty much nailed the line & timing

LongBeachSurfFreak
Congrats LI crew! 2"-3" likely for most of you guys as well. Not at all the band consolidated. So even though rates are insane in the center it's not going to stay in any one place for long enough to drop much more then an inch
Cfa
Coming down moderately, and it's already coating the ground. Certainly the most impressive snowfall since last winter.
SnowGoose69
1.8...if NYC reports 0.5 inches again I'll definitely contact Upton, they were wrong the other day, it was 1.0 on the nose
WintersGrasp
Have about 1" here.....judging by the appearance of the band on radar, I would think I'd have 2".....nonetheless, that was nice and refreshing for us snow starved snow lovers here. Possibly will be the biggest event of the season for many? Lol

Cfa
It's safe to say that there's more snow on the ground now (after 10-15 mins of snow) than there was the other day, despite the fact that it was snowing for hours. Heavy snow now with a temp of 26.
IsentropicLift
What a dud IMBY You were too far West, it was pretty clear that the band wasn't going to get going until further East. I almost missed it where I am.

Dsnowx53
Two photos from Larchmont, NY. 1" fell in about 40 minutes. Beautiful shots, Don. Today's heavy snow can be explained by the beautiful 130 to 170 knot jet streak in the Ohio Valley and the Mid Atlantic. http://synoptic.envsci.rutgers.edu/dougsimo/3000606.gif
