Geos
Been pouring smaller flakes in Racine. I'd say only 1/2" since it started. Little hard to tell with it blowing around.
RCNYILWX
Ripping here outside the office. There's a Lewis University Airport hangar you can usually see about 1/4 mile away from the building.

DaveNay
Absolute white out, and the snow has tapered a bit. Visibility has been less than a half mile for nearly an hour And I get to go pick up my wife on campus in an hour and a half.....I guess me driving the Suburban is better than her in the minivan. Chicago WX
IKK looks to be having a bit of fun soon. Nice returns about to move in there. Looks to be a non-event here.
Chitown Storm
Blizzard warning one mile west of me.Lucky! Enjoy it. MPX finally woke up and realized it should have a WWA in place for everyone else. More for blowing snow now that the falling snow is just about done. Younar
Anybody know what the wavy looking features on the MPX radar are? Those were showing up for a while on the MPX radar today... Mostly west of the metro in the same spots.

Mostly west of the metro in the same spots. Might just be the trailing edge of the snow bands. NW winds starting to pump. Should be fun tonight. Luftfeuchtigkeit
Coming down good here again after a break the last hour. I'm guessing we've only gotten 1/2" so far, but it's pretty hard to measure. The spot where I normally measure is partly bare and partly a several inch deep drift. I'm going for another inch. Hoosier
Better/longer lasting returns crossing the IL border and should clip LAF. I think this will do the trick as far as moistening enough to get snow to the ground though maybe not right away.

A-L-E-K
ended up super lame in the loop but we fought persistent dry air, going to end up well under 1/2"
Thundersnow12
LOT regarding blizzard conditions GIVEN THE ENTIRE AREA HAS A NICE DRY POWDERY SNOW PACK...THIS SHOULD BLOW AROUND EASILY...RESULTING IN SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED VIS...IF NOT TEMPORARY NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS. GIVEN THIS CONCERN I FELT IT PRUDENT TO EXTEND AND EXPAND THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY THROUGH LATE TONIGHT. I DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH CONFIDENCE TO ISSUE A BLIZZARD WARNING DUE TO THE LIKELY SHORT DURATION OF THE STRONGER WINDS. THE EVENING SHIFT WILL HAVE TO KEEP AN EYE ON UPSTREAM OBS TO SEE IF A WARNING MAY BE JUSTIFIED.
