SR Airglow
Will, what does the EURO show for Cape Cod, MA? Is it colder with surface temps? I'm not Will, but it's got 0.05-0.1" QPF with surface temps 33-36 or so depending on your location, you are around 34-35. White rain verbatim likely, your better shot is with OES over the next few days.
Randy4Confluence
Yeah, definitely more vorticity with this run of the gfs at 500...a little more amped than the 18z run.
TalcottWx
Looks good for widespread snow friday on the para gfs, gfs, and gem.

moneypitmike
If we can reach 20*, it will feel like a balmy snow after the several cool days preceding it. 5.2/
JC-CT
Interestingly, I am significantly more intrigued that the para looks better for this event. It smelled out the ratter yesterday for a while before.

It smelled out the ratter yesterday for a while before. I too am on the 2-3 hour of sweetness bandwagon, does remind me of 1/28/10 in a way with a precursor then a Arctic squally time. CoastalWx
Good moisture in the column, good WAA..should be a nice 1-2 for a lot of people.

ORH_wxman
What is the "para" that is referred to? Parallel GFS. It's taking over for the current OP GFS soon.
J Paul Gordon
why doesn't the Para show 2m temps? They have the anomalies but not the actual temps.

CoastalWx
why doesn't the Para show 2m temps? They have the anomalies but not the actual temps. Probably depends on the weather provider. I can see them.

CoastalWx
Is your provider pay for or can it be accessed by the peons? Well this is because of where I work, but I think weatherbell would have it.
CoastalWx
Besides, you'll see it when the new GFS goes live. Don't sweat it.
ORH_wxman
Good ribbon of moisture and some solid lift from good PVA. I think a two to three hour burst is reasonable. 1-2 for most. Maybe a spot 3 in the berkshires or monads.
Damage In Tolland
Models continue to hit 1-3 hard and winds gusting to 50 inland and 60+ coast. James should be wild down on the Cape
ORH_wxman
I disagree on inland winds. They might not even gust to 35. Temps are in the 20s over the interior. If it got to like mid 30s then it would be a lot more likely.
CoastalWx
NAM BUFKIT was actually a little less enthused on winds at HYA, but had gusts near 50. They probably would do better in real life. Anyways, seems like 1-2 NW of say GHG-PVD or so. Even I will probably edge above 32 briefly.

Those SW winds can sometimes inject a bit of juice though..esp with a cold atmosphere just aloft. Most snow may be out in the Berks or Monads regions..but it wouldn't shock me if the band still held together there.

CoastalWx
GFS still looks ok for 1 to maybe 2. Maybe someone in NE CT measures a drift off their Dodge Ram and gets 2.4".

CoastalWx
says something when you're happy to get 2 inches and won't moan about getting 1 ! Yeah and like Will said..1-2 isn't a lock for everyone either..but for now seems doable in a lot of spots anyways. At least 1. Forcing is actually pretty good.
