Disregarding a couple obvious erroneous readings, the earlier barometer reading of 30.86" at LAF is the highest reading since 1989 and tied for the fourth highest on record since 1973

30.92" - February 12, 1981

30.91" - February 16-17, 1989

30.88" - February 13, 1981

30.86" -  January 8, 1986 ; January 7, 2015

DTW is -1F, wind chill -22F, under a thick Michigan overcast. Thats when you know its COLD. Imagine if it was clear or even partially clear.

lol when I posted that I was looking out my window to the north and it was a darkish gray, but then when I looked out a different window facing the south I noticed it was  more of a cirrus overcast, not so much a thick one. DTW was partly cloudy at midnight then went to cloudy with some light snow, the temp rose from 2F at midnight to 7F at 4am, and has since dropped 8 full degrees since 4am under the thin overcast.

Same thing happened here. Rose up to 8°F after midnight and has now dropped all the way down to -1°F now that its fully daylight.

DTW was at -2°F at 9am, when the temp keeps dropping after sunrise you know that airmass is frigid.
