Absolute Humidity
also 1965 - 66 might apply as well as the Blizzard occurred in late Jan 27-28th I believe. TauntonBlizzard2013
also 1965 - 66 might apply as well as the Blizzard occurred in late Jan 27-28th I believe. Most recent close kinda of match as well, 2012-13 with Nemo and march snows totaling near 20" after Jan 31st. It can happen. Up here in SNE I had less than 10 inches on the season heading into the Feb blizzard. I ended the season with over 60". It can happen. We got a 50"+ blitz in basically 5-6 weeks

It can happen. We got a 50"+ blitz in basically 5-6 weeks 2010-11 featured 90% of the snow b/w 12/26/10 and 1/27/11. Have to hope for something like that this year. WeatherFox
Lets hope that the New York NWS can issue some of the following or a least a Special Weather Statement for a heavy band of snow showers that could drop a quick inch or two.. Winter Season Watches, Warnings, and Advisories Winter Storm WarningIssued for a winter weather event in which there is more than one of the following: snow, sleet, and ice (freezing rain), and one of the warning criteria is met. The warning criteria for snow is 6 inches expected in a 12 hour period, or 8 inches expected in a 24 hour period. The warning criteria for ice is accumulations meeting or exceeding 1/2 inch. A winter storm warning may also be issued for heavy snow combined with strong winds of 25-34 mph that will cause blowing and drifting of the snow. A warning may still be warranted if the event is expected to exceed advisory criteria, but fall just short of warning criteria and will significantly impact mass transit and/or utilities.Blizzard WarningIssued for sustained winds or frequent gusts greater than or equal to 35 mph accompanied by falling and/or blowing snow, frequently reducing visibility to less than 1/4 mile for three hours or more.Ice Storm WarningIssued when freezing rain is expected to produce ice accumulations of 1/2 inch or greater, or cause significant disruptions to travel or utilities.Wind Chill WarningIssued when wind chill values will reach -25°F or colder. Winter Weather AdvisoryIssued for a winter weather event in which there is more than one of the following: snow, sleet, and ice (freezing rain), and one of the advisory criteria is met but does not exceed warning criteria. In addition, a winter weather advisory will be issued for an all-snow event if the advisory criteria is met but does not exceed the warning criteria. The advisory criteria is 3 inches of snow and/or sleet expected in a 12 hour period, or a trace of ice accumulation. An advisory may still be warranted if lesser accumulations will significantly impact mass transit and/or utilities.Freezing Rain AdvisoryIssued when a trace of ice accumulation is expected from freezing rain and/or drizzle, but not to exceed 1/2 inch.Wind Chill AdvisoryIssued when wind chill values will reach -15°F to -24°F. famartin
1913-14 had 40.5" for the season... Interesting. OKX needs a climate focal point to clean up NCDC's records for NYC. Guess it won't be me, though.

Good luck! http://www.erh.noaa.gov/okx/climate/records/monthseasonsnowfall.html Mistakes!? I was pulling from NCDC's records, which definitely don't match OKX's. So, obviously there needs to be some syncing.
