Kevin Reilly
Yes, and nice job on your estimate! I believe you said 2.3" for Media last night, if I remember correctly. Yes, I did estimate 2.3" posted that on Facebook weather page then here looking at everything radar and what not. Not worried about wrong or right just happy as a snowman we finally had some snow and perhaps more to come next week. It is great talking weather here and most predictions are typically right on..Mets here are great too! Happy first snow day of 2015!
Kevin Reilly
RHs near 30-35% with temps near 20F often don't take long for snow to fall from my experience...also decent RH in the 5K-15K layer on most models, I think it'll reach the ground relatively fast most places.[/quote This was spot on and where this occurred generally 2-2.5" fell...my concern was wasting precip on verga but this was not the case as snow commenced right when radar said it would again in most cases. famartin
Is that totally from the snow cam/stick, or did someone verify it? In other words, did it work to your satisfaction? You mentioned earlier that the board was cleared, so I was wondering if a measurement was also taken for "calibration"? It was verified and the cam worked to my satisfaction. That might change depending on conditions... this was a light, powdery snow with no wind... best conditions for measuring I could hope for. famartin
16:1 ratio yesterday back home with 0.07"; that total could be a smidge low as the gauge was left inside for a while before the reading was taken, so a bit of evaporation may have occurred.
