Cold Rain
So did the models underestimate QPF here? I honestly didn't look at projected amounts before this event. I wasn't expecting 3" of rain.

I wasn't expecting 3" of rain.It did underestimate, alot! Because it was rain! I'm sure I got 1.50+, and everything I saw said .25-.5 inch total! Solak
I posted this last night... Be interesting to see how this plays out overnight in this area.... RAH evening update: Quote A SIGNIFICANT PLUME OF GULF AND GULF STREAM MOISTURE WILL ADVECT OVER OUR REGION THROUGH THE NIGHT WITH WIDESPREAD RAINS EXPECTED THROUGH MID-MORNING... BEFORE TAPERING OFF TO DRIZZLE THEN. QPF OF 0.5 TO 1 INCH APPEARS LIKELY AS SUGGESTED BY THE MOST RECENT MODEL RUNS AND TRENDS.
downeastnc
So did the models underestimate QPF here? I honestly didn't look at projected amounts before this event. I wasn't expecting 3" of rain. MHX went with .50-1" for us as well and we are sitting at a little over 2" so far here and I can see us getting another 1" at least based on what I am seeing back downstream in SC etc... Cold Rain
Thanks guys. I didn't think I had heard or read any forecast calling for this much rain. At least another inch looks likely...maybe more.
