jburns
Come on, no need to delete my post about snowstorms of the past. I would have left it if you had dropped the k and added, tator, to the last word in your first sentence.
WidreMann
I would have left it if you had added, tator, to the last word in your first sentence. Can't you just edit it if you didn't like that word? Oh well. No big deal.

Cold Rain
LC said that the Saturday numerical schemes vindicate his winter outlook up to this point. Didn't he go for like -5 in December, -8 in January, and -30 in February or something like that?
Cold Rain
A classic jshetley post! Nice. Now my Saturday is complete. Shetley is probably already +4 on the year.

superjames1992
Hopefully the 18z GFS is wrong because that would mean 3 weeks without much rain at all where I am. If that's right it takes us to early Feb with little winter precip in the SE except for the Nov 1 snow. Classic!
JoshM
Liking the 0z GFS but...
Dunkman
Just read Robert's Facebook post...that's lovely he's basically punting January. We need rules for next year. Any winter outlook that doesn't have a glowing red map with the entire SE turning into a desert needs to be immediately deleted. The jinx is real. JoshM
Wow. Lol give us a PBP then for the 6z GFS. I'm not on the computer by then, I lay in the bed and listen to old radio shows after about 3am. Love those shows from the 40s and 50s. Radio Classics is an awesome channel! Tacoma
It's a sad winter when even the WNC Mtns. will go the whole month of January with no snowstorm let alone no clipper systems or hardly any snow showers. Would have bet money at least the mtns. would see a snowstorm during the month of January.

Man. it's only the 18th and we are seeing some of the best looks on the models we have seen all winter. The mountains of NC will not get shut out in January. You can bet on that. No its not February but from everything I'm reading here and the other post it doesn't look good. The storm for next Friday is starting to look like a non storm for anyone. Looks too suppressed for the mtns. even though the mtns. look cold enough. the central and eastern NC looks like rain because temps are to warm. Just going from what all the met experts are seeing for the next 10 days or so.
