Brick Tamland
This probably belongs in banter but it just shows how boring this winter has been that we're focusing on a storm 7 days out. I don't ever remember any storm being modeled correctly 7 days out with consistency. Just re read the Christmas storm threads from 2010 and it will about make your head hurt. It wasn't until about 3 days out that everything came together. So plenty of time for a big one, a small one and nothing. Great post by burger. That storm and the Carolina Crusher of 2000 prove that isn't over until it's over.

burgertime
Great post by burger. That storm and the Carolina Crusher of 2000 prove that isn't over until it's over. You seem avoid the millions of times a storm has ended up doing little to nothing which I also pointed out.

I know most of the time it doesn't happen that way, but it can still happen.
wncsnow
I have been pretty optimistic this winter even with the crappy pattern we have been stuck in.. but I have to admit I am really starting to get frustrated now with the good pattern still showing signs of being delayed or denied
Shawn
I also want to warn our group about spending too much time looking at the models. This man has been studying each model run for the past two months. The photo speaks for itself. Where did you get that photo of me at? It was supposed to be erased from the internet by now. tnweathernut
Lol. NASA and NOAA said that 2014 was the hottest year on record in the 134 years. I'd like to see them move their collection sites out of these metropolitan areas where the "heat island" effect certainly has an effect on this assertion. JMO, but if you did that, I am guessing you'd likely see dramatic cooling being shown.

GaWx
As "Roseanne Roseannadanna" used to say on SNL way back when, "If it's not one thing, it's another!" Anyone here like her? Maybe that's what she was always referring to, getting a major SE snowstorm. Things have to be just right or forgettaboutit. Otherwise, they wouldn't occur only about once every few years or so on average. I'm talking those that include places like N GA and vicinity as well as many other well inland areas getting major snow (say ~4"+).

We will get our usual end of winter 2-3" of slush that starts melting before the storm is over. A great winter pattern is coming...in March.
