Packbacker is so close to jumping

LOL, I did submit another post that wasn't as dramatic.  I have really just lost interest in the winter/snow and would really welcome an early spring.  I haven't posted or really looked at models a whole lot the past few days, today was the first day I really looked at all the models.  Meh...atleast we will have sun today/tomorrow.

If you don't think it will ever happen, then why even bother to follow things in the winter?

Lol, when did I say that?! I never said

that. You've been saying it's going to happen since Christmas and the only thing you got was 0.01 ice. Hell Jacksonville,FL has had more snow than most of us on here. Texas looks like they are going to get another winter event next week! That'll be there 5 or 6th this winter.

Ikr. How many times are we going to see this? I can't believe that Feb will be rocking until I see it. We've been fooled so many times! I'm not complaining though.

It is a little depressing that parts of Florida have seen more snow than I have. Even yesterday a lot of the south had either sleet or snow, even though it was light. All I saw was a cold rain. Right now I'd kill just for a few flakes or sleet pellets. Back in the old days, it wasn't that hard to at least get a few flakes.

I feel like i'm on an emotional roller coaster. I go to bed and everyone says there's a big snowstorm in about a week. I wake up and everyone is all depressed.

I advise not watching the models then....personally I want to see the storm trend SE until around days 4-6 then I want the models to lose the storms completely....if that happens I know we are on track to getting a legit system in here.

Personally I am not nearly the winter weenie I use to be..... now I am kinda meh on winter weather threats I like tracking them but if they don't happen or bust I really don't get to upset anymore where as 10 yrs ago if we busted on a 1" storm I was devastated.

Give me a active severe/cane season over a active winter one any time.

I feel like i'm on an emotional roller coaster. I go to bed and everyone says there's a big snowstorm in about a week. I wake up and everyone is all depressed.

All I'll say (and I'm sure someone will take offense, it's what people do here) is that you probably should ignore any chatter about anything, good or bad, shown in a model that's more than 3-4 days out.  Looking at a snowy clown map for 10 days out is like gazing at a lottery ticket for next week's drawing and thinking about what you'll do when you win the money.

Models are just number crunchers, showing some number of possible future outcomes.  The further out they go the less likely they are to actually show anything that will actually come to pass.  The odds are generally very low that anything beyond a few days out is actually going to occur in some form, and virtually nonexistent that that thing will occur verbatim.

People are just bored out of their minds with this incredibly boring winter, so they talk about fantasy stuff that's way out there.  Because there's really nothing else to talk about except how the analogs didn't pan out, which is equally crystal ball-ish.  Unless you want to talk about Western Europe, who are actually having the kind of winter we'd all probably like to have.

Look at the silver lining.  So far, none of us have atrocious heating bills.  None of us have been stuck without power for days.  Nobody's kids have spent the night on a school bus yet this year.  There are pluses to boring winters.

This is why I quit looking at models.  This is feeling like one of those winters where it just isn't going to snow.  Check back in with you fools on Monday.

It really does look like 2011-2012 now. I would not be shocked if we have had our coldest weather already and will not get another even small threat of winter weather. I hope now we get 60's and 70's and some severe storms.

Geronimo!
