Actually, people were getting upset about a thread being started on the possible event just 7 days out when it was all everyone was talking about in the pattern thread. That is the crazy part.

I still agree with you. It was totally dominating the pattern thread. Talking about one potential event isn't a "pattern" discussion per se imo. It is a "potential event" discussion. Plus, what's the harm if it doesn't end up being anything? No event is anywhere near certain in advance unless it is about to start. At least the pattern thread isn't as cluttered with the posts about the nonevent if it ends up a dud. That potential event was the subject of numerous posts and was taking up a lot of the pattern thread at the expense of more "pattern" related posts. Would it be better to dominate the pattern discussion with many posts about this one event or instead have just one extra thread in the list of threads? If a potential event becomes just about all most active posters are discussing, that's the time imo to consider its own thread, regardless of how likely it is to end up occurring.

Don't stop believinnnnnnnnn hold on to that feeeeeliing

Have you been watching Glee again?

By the way, yeah, I agree with your analysis of the 372 hour GFS in the pattern thread.  If we get blocking like that, we should have a pretty cold US as a whole.  But we won't and we won't, so who cares. Haha!

The pattern thread is the only certified padded thread in our little asylum.  We try and contain the long range madness there as much as possible, to keep you from hurting yourselves.

Now it's snowing in Jacksonville before Charlotte

Nothing worse than having a winter where the gulf or southeast coast sees snow before we do.  Luckily I had my first flakes way back on november 1st (which actually was coming down pretty good for a while) and a few again yesterday. So, at least this time, I don't have that painful vomit inducing kick in the groin feeling that the winter gods love to inflict on me and the rest of us poor southeast folks all the time. I'm sure though they have a sadistic plan in the works to really torture us before this winter is over.

You have to love  irony though that just one day removed from it being october brought more snow here than all the days combined since...and quite possibly the most of the entire season at this rate,  despite all the optimistic and bullish winter forecasts.
