mackerel_sky
Is the Monday clipper still on the table? That has more immediate possibilities for some areas. That table was cleared about a week ago! It may offer a surprise rain shower! Even if we get some moisture, it will be too warm
Cold Rain
Not here, unless it can somehow magically snow at 10.5C at the sfc. (it can, right?) Haha, maybe at Brick's house. Oh well.
Cold Rain
That table was cleared about a week ago! It may offer a surprise rain shower! Even if we get some moisture, it will be too warm Hadn't looked at surface temps. I though a couple of days back that it looked too warm. But then the NWS mentioned a chance of rain or snow showers possible.

superjames1992
How the eff do we go from a suppressed storm to a rainy cold front in just a few runs? This winter is an unmitigated disaster. I'm starting to lose patience. Spring isn't far off...
Cold Rain
You guys have a shot, much better timing. These things never work out. The temps during the day turn out much warmer than forecast and then the clouds roll in and temps are much slower to drop than forecast. It needs to be very cold already. Sucks. BullCityWx
At least some of you have even seen snow fly this winter. We haven't seen a flake in the air here in almost a calendar year.
Bsudweather
If we can get some moisture in here monday night, it looks like 2m temps would be in mid 30s

Brick Tamland
Looks like we went from too much polar vortex push to not enough with the last run. Ridiculous. Maybe we can get it somewhere in the middle now.

packbacker
The 18z GEFS at day 8 can't better for a SE snowstorm. But somehow it will find a way.

CLTwx
Now Allen still has a foot in....maybe? @RaleighWx: Trend with 12z guidance so far, with northern stream s/w to dig further south and west in 6-7 days. More room for overrunning to set up. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

rduwx
Well, I went and bought a sectional last night to go in my movie room and it's being delivered on Super Bowl Sunday. My confidence wasn't very high on a snowstorm when I set up the delivery.... But I feel a little better about it today for some reason. I just checked the 12z gfs and 12z cmc and saw some good things. The fat lady isn't singing yet.

mackerel_sky
Yay, perfect timing, wedge looking good, models don't see the cold, underestimating the strength of the wedge, it'll change, we still have 7,6,5,4,3,2 days to go , the NAM came in colder and wetter, it's the NAM at 48 hrs let's hug it, dynamic cooling, it's just one run, eps looks good, op runs suck , go with ensembles. Expect all will be said over next few days!
sparklecity
It's important to remember the models are never right if it doesn't show snow for yby. I'm not going to worry too much about every run until the middle of next week. By then we should be converging on the correct solution.
