NRVwxfan.
There is a crazy surge of warm air. Im still in the upper 30s, while the SC lowcountry is in the mid to upper 60s.
superjames1992
Hard to believe that Baltimore and Tampa have the same climate. They're close enough for the global climate classifications. Here are all the areas in the world classified as "humid subtropical".
CaryWx
From suppression to Apps Runner in one run. Not sure why I keep on looking at these operational models 7+ days out. Really. I mean what is the euro 0z going to do now? Will it go from full suppression to an apps runner? That's not a 180, it's madness. Would be wicked wild compared to what the gfs just did. WidreMann
Once again, I am surprised that people are looking at the details on a storm 9 days away. Just because the new GFS shows higher resolution out to 240 hours doesn't mean it isn't still garbage. Ignore anything past 144 except for the broad pattern. Otherwise, you're setting yourself up for failure, either way.
jburns
Model watching is like playing SimCity. When the tornado devastates your city, it's fun to watch on the computer. But when you run outside to see it in the real world, it's nowhere to be found.

Cold Rain
Figured i was the only one this evening having those thoughts pack. Was thinking how great of a nice steady snow storm we could be having out there when I looked at the intellicast radar earlier. We'd be complaining that the totals were not nearly as high as originally forecasted because convection in the Gulf robbed the moisture transport. Funny how we haven't had to deal with that particular issue in a couple years.
YetAnotherRDUGuy
NWS has introduced a 20% chance of rain/snow on Monday night for parts of N and NE NC. Giggity giggity.
metalicwx366
Is anyone else following the MA,NYC,NE forums? The Euro just went from showing nothing to a 1-2feet snowstorm for the NYC and NE forum at 72 hours. The NAM just showed almost the same thing, but more. Tacoma
This is true. Really hope the track we just had repeats a time or two in February. what a waste of a perfect track with this latest storm but not cold enough even in the mountains for snow and here in the heart of winter you would think we would of had the cold air in place. I sure hope the super bowl storm continues to show since it looks like the cold will arrive just before the storm does.

tnweathernut
I guess we should try and determine what a bomb in the northeast will provide down the line for the overall pattern. Looks like an increasingly good bet for NE.

metalicwx366
Now the GFS has the bomb for the NE. Crazy how the 0z Euro showed this, and then every model jumps on it. NAM shows like 4 feet of snow or something like that.

Bsudweather
I think that clipper monday has some surprises, even for some of us upstate and Ne Ga folks. If the moisture holds as it moves over the mtns then I think we see some flakes, JMO.
Cold Rain
Is the Monday clipper still on the table? That has more immediate possibilities for some areas.

Not here, unless it can somehow magically snow at 10.5C at the sfc. (it can, right?)
