It's a NC and AL thing. I've never cared for NASCAR either. I've always thought it was stupid to watch cars going around in circles for hours.

I beg to differ.  Maybe it's because I work in construction but everyone is a NASCAR fan around me.  Hell, we used to set door combinations based on driver numbers.

I figured if we see this much consistency this far out, might as will bring the mojo with it. It's gonna be a blockbuster, you have my word.  :mapsnow:

I am not a full time mod and have a lot of respect for that job, but when we FINALLY reel in the big fish here in the SE it would be nice to have had a thread started at day 9/10 for documentation purposes.

Sure, most will fail, but it seems like it would be pretty easy to clean that up.  I can see a time coming, where once past it, we will think about how nice it would have been to have more information on the "big one", and what the thoughts at day 6, 7, 8, 9, and even 10 were.

It's a weather board with a few bi-polar people (hopefully mostly medicated) as members, including some perfectly normal people too, who lean either optimistic or pessimistic.  You will have all of those even if you waited till 72 hours out to start a thread for a storm of the century.  jmo

I already said we would reopen the thread earlier if we have reasonable model agreement.  I'm not going to have this discussion again. Post in the pbp thread until the time comes.

One good thing is the Saturday rain storm for this weekend was modeled correctly as far as the system goes 10 days out.  The only part they didn't get right was the cold air.  Hopefully that won't happen over the next week.

I have a valentines shoot that weekend for a large family  :yikes:  :(

We get lots of it. But I'm being serious. I'm on vacation for 9 days starting the 29th and I'll be damned if I don't get in on some of the action like everyone else. Wherever the bullseye is, that's where I will be.

In all seriousness, I would pick somewhere in the triad (GSO to INT).  That's usually the sweet spot for coastals, if, and I mean a big IF, anything were to happen.  Usually points NW of 85/40 are usually good.

I may chase too, take family skiing or something.

I mean I know it's way too early to know for sure, but I was thinking the same thing. I guess a week from now we will have a very good idea. I'm just hoping that somewhere in NC or SC or TN or wherever gets some snow ( and I don't mean a couple of inches). It would suck if it ended up being another cold rain. I haven't seen more than 4" of snow in a single storm in 22 years and frankly I"m sick of it. I'm ready to experience a real snow.

Dude you better go to Amarillo Texas. "IF"! This storm the models are showing is real, they are gonna get probably another foot or two of snow lol. They over perform with like every event. I think they got plenty of snow in the terrible winter of 2012-13 and 75mph blizzard conditions.
