For some reason I was just thinking about some interesting windstorms/noreasters I experienced including November 2009 in Norfolk, 2 days of 50+gusts (75 max) and 8 inches of rain! My college lost power with trees down across campus leading to all sorts of tomfoolery

I was also thinking about the high wind event in early April 2005. We lost power for 3 or 4 days, the most I can ever remember other than the blizzard of 93 for Marion. The wind gusted up to 80 mph (according to some reports)  across parts of North Carolina(especially mountain valleys and along the escarpment)  McDowell County seemed to be one of the hardest hit areas with many signs blown over (hardees I think??) and poweroutages

Lol I hope you recorded that, I'll send him pics from Boone

I've seen them call for rain before and with the perfect track we got dynamic cooling and had a huge snowstorm, it was a really wet snow but we had in the one storm about 10 inches of snow.  they said it would change to rain before we got an inch but it never did.  wouldn't give up in the nc mountains yet.

I hope I get 3" of rain from this one. There is water in many of the ditches aroun here. We could have some pretty respectable flooding with a few inches of rain!

We better get used to it.

We get to watch yet another MA snow storm. Euro has 3 events for them in the next 8 days. Luckily Feb is only 28 days long and then this nightmare will be over and spring will be here.

Man we suck.

My expectations weren't as high as others for this winter but I never thought we would get skunked.  That is looking like a possibility now.  I was expecting 2 good events.  Man, we do suck!

It's so nice to have company. I have tried being positive the past week or so and all it's gotten us is another historic MA winter.

It's hard for us to get skunked in any winter but we are this winter.

It's just so hard to believe the 12 year run we're on here.  Our yearly average snowfall is slowly sinking.  I grew up in Cary and it seemed like every year we had a decent event.  Now we have to get lucky!
