My son isn't going to be happy when he reads that :(

I'm not happy. He's been my favorite driver since I started watching as a young kid. It's going to be surreal to not see him out there anymore... I knew it would happen at some point, but I figured it would still be 5 years or so away.

I guess Jeff wants to spend time with the family and doesn't want to slowly decline into irrelevancy like many drivers do.

Jacob too  :(     By the time he was two it's the car/driver he always wanted to play with. He got it all on his own as I was a Mark Martin fan and hubby was a Dale Sr fan. He wanted a Jeff Gordon bed, so hubby made him one, using a toy hood with his autograph he got during the last labor day race Darlington had. Ahhhhh....the memories........  ;)

I know many people love NASCAR but I've never cared for it. To me (and it's just me...), I never saw the thrill of going round and round in a circle.

Give me a good road course with left and right turns any day... :-)

It's a NC and AL thing. I've never cared for NASCAR either. I've always thought it was stupid to watch cars going around in circles for hours.

LOL, no. You guys one of the most historic NASCAR tracks (Atlanta), too.

Yeah, Buckeye, I started watching when I was young when Jeff Gordon was in his first few years. Had all that stuff as a young kid, too.

I can appreciate road courses, too, Dracula. I watch Indy Car fairly religiously and try to catch F1 when I can.
