No it's not.  It's not going to snow in the SE.  It's not going to snow in the SE.  It's not going to snow in the SE.  It's not going to snow in the SE.  Why?  Because.  Just because.

If we don't get snow before Jan's out then we aren't getting snow this winter.  I should preface that by saying "we" someone outside of the mountains in NC/SC/GA as we are still RDU and we seem to repel snowstorms here.

It's an active pattern with blocking, ridging in the west and deep trough in the east.  The PV sitting over the lakes is always a wildcard though, but that can also result in a big storm with a super phase.

If you blend the ridge placement between GEFS/EPS day 8-10 we would be in a good spot (knock on wood).

Prepare for a cutter at 12z GFS! It's coming

With the new GFS I don't know what to be rooting for, with the old GFS we would be rooting for something progressive SE of us.  I thought the Euro run was fine last night, at that range it will shift east, how much depends on how fast it amplifies and ridge/trough placement.

As it stands now, it looks great!

Look at the accuweather se radr ptype and hit play. I double dog dare you in east TN or NC. Looks can be deceiving but it looks like a winter storm fixing to roll from Murphy to Manteo. Been a long time since I seen a radar look this sexy. Wow

Yepp... The only saving grace that winter was really low heating bills and our epic chase.

Didn't you guys chase the Snowquester storm in March 2013? I don't think 2011-2012 really had any legit chase storms (unless you wanted to chase to the Triad/northward for our 2-5" in late February).

Yeah.  If he means our chase to Front Royal, VA, it was the first week in March, 2013.  It does seems like it was a long time ago.
