Important highlights of the RAH AFD:

ARRIVAL OF COLD AIR TONIGHT DELAYED SEVERAL HOURS

RECENT RADAR TRENDS SEEM TO BE UNDERPERFORMING GUIDANCE

WOULD FAVOR THE MEAN OR LIGHTER PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS

Typical winter weather event in NC.

Edit:  But, at least it's something.  It's going to turn out about how I thought it would a few days ago, although I was hoping it would trend more substantially.

You mean the way it was trending just earlier this morning? Amazing how it turns around just hours before the even was supposed to start in the same day.

Clearly if you followed these events closely, that seems to be the case the majority of the time. GFSP/EURO were probably the way to go.

well, I am on my phone so it's not as easy to post maps. Anyways, are we allowed to post pay maps since that is was I use and compare to previous runs?

Yes....if it's something they've posted on social media or something that you can get on a free site also.

Folks say going from a WSWatch to a WWA is an upgrade. No.. Thats a downgrade. A winter storm warning to a winter weather advisory is most certainly a downgrade. If the text from a winter storm watch says 6-10 inches is possible, then the next day you get "upgraded" to a winter weather advisory for 2-4 inches, how can that be an upgrade?

No. It is not a downgrade. The NWS says so.

It's neither.  A watch is a watch for something.  A warning or an advisory is an expectation for something.

RAH made a point in their briefing today to say just that. I think it kind of confuses the public to start with a Winter Storm Watch and then go to an advisory, but then say it isn't a downgrade. I think most would understand it better if it started out as an advisory and then upgraded to a watch and then a warning if needed.
