jamesnichols89
I agree, vort max for the clipper looks better and surface progs look better for the clipper as well on the 18z GFS.
jamesnichols89
Sunday/Monday storm is weaker on the 18z GFS and therefore there is no blocking H5 low to shred the vort max associated with the clipper, EURO shreds the disturbance.
ma blizzard
nice redeveloper look for the clipper on the 18z GFS today

jamesnichols89
I'm not sold on the clipper until the 12z EURO does not show that wicked H5 low shredding everything in its path.
SR Airglow
LOL night and day from the 12z GFS.
jamesnichols89
Wicked nice +PNA ridge to the west and northwest of the vort max for the clipper, nice upper level support.
SR Airglow
Warm for some, but at this lead time, who cares. Close enough to have everyone in the game.
jamesnichols89
Clipper is better looking for Downeast ME than SNE. Bad track.
dryslot
Don't think i would get to concerned with the track at this juncture, Just that it shows it is a major plus this far out
jamesnichols89
If the track is about 100 miles further southeast it will take advantage of the Gulf Stream precip wise, that's why you have the heaviest precip along the baroclinic boundary. SR Airglow
Don't think i would get to concerned with the track at this juncture, Just that it shows it is a major plus this far out Exactly. It's less than 50 miles away from being an advisory event for everyone, and at this range that's nothing. To see something like this come to fruition after the hints we've been seeing on the ensembles is nothing short of excellent. Now, let's keep it for 6 days... powderfreak
Nice, that's a healthy looking clipper, haha. Weenie snow graphics for pure entertainment showing 6"+ from ORH to the Canadian border over the next week. This period that was looking boring is definitely gaining some steam. SR Airglow
Clipper is south and weaker this run on the GFS compared to the 18z GFS, but still drops an advisory snowfall from about the MA/CT border north, basically a 2-4" lollies to 5" deal for everyone north of that line(South of the pike sees a bit of mixing but not much). SN/IP/RN mix south of there.
ORH_wxman
GEFS like the clipper...redevelop it just south fo SNE and move it into the GOM. There must be some pretty good members in there to have the mean look like that. We'll have to see how that one trends. Still 5-6 days out. SnowGoose69
Thats about as good a setup we've seen in a long time, a fake temporary -NAO but it works...if that thing can dig this could be significant....
jamesnichols89
00z GFS was better for the Cape Cod area in terms of the clipper.
jamesnichols89
00z GFS was too warm with the surface temps with a storm track to my southeast. Its more likely to be all snow rather than rain.
Damage In Tolland
Seems like our clipper on the op runs is slowly but surely being forced farther south. This better not end up another DC hit if it doesn't shear out
jamesnichols89
It won't end up further south like the last clipper.
