Go Kart Mozart
At least there is a wee bit of difluence ahead of the vort max over Iowa. -28c at 850 the following day? What does that translate to at the surface assuming we have an inch or two of snow on the ground?
CoastalWx
If we can get some snow OTG, it could be coldest air in years potentially. That is a primo delivery too.

Lay down 2-4 inches of fluff and deliever that airmass, and we're probably talking highs of like 5-6F at ORH and near 10F at BOS.

Clinch Leatherwood
Confusing read without days and events mentioned, mainly days when multiple systems are being lumped into one thread before they come prominent and get their own. Just a suggestion to make it easier for the more casual readers...include the event days in the post.
Tropopause_Fold
that is some boys-cryin-for-their-mommas cold later next week. euro 2-m are ridiculous. daytime 2-m max of 4F at ORH on that run...temp actually drops from high single digits near dawn. lol. Yeah...I had a chuckle at those 2m temps. I was waiting for the euro to modify it a bit from those frigid d10 runs, but it's got it just as strong at d7 now. The GFS is pretty damn cold too with -30C 850s into the mtns. MEX is cold considering the heavy d7 climo influence.

Damage In Tolland
Looks like one of those shots we had in Jan 02.. Where it didn't matter time of day. As the core of cold came in it dropped below zero during the day and warmed at night

TauntonBlizzard2013
Gfs has been pretty consistent with the clipper over the past few runs. Para has it losing its punch as it arrives. Probably just some snow showers. I actually thought the gfs looked like it may try to bring it south of us at first, but that didnt happen
TalcottWx
Just a little change in 5 days. hr282.png hr162.png Lmao yet cancel winter because the euro doesn't look good 200+ hours out. Remember when people said the pattern change was always 7 days out etc... It's the same thing. It looks like we are heading into a wintry period. I only post this because it gives people an insight to how complicated these patterns can be. Lots of moving parts. The 18z GFS may bring a few back from the ledge. ORH_wxman
Man, what a weenie run the 18z GFS was...that shows how things can break right in this pattern. But we also know how things can break wrong...but there's no real shortage of activity in the flow.

Yeah ...for those that don't like a given scenario, the upshot is you won't have to wait very long before it's outta there and ur loading the gun for another shot. Flow is fast like a McDonalds, turning over customers in short order.

jamesnichols89
Yeah it might not, but winds are too northwesterly for my liking on the 18z GFS.
