Fozz Posted January 31, 2015 Share Posted January 31, 2015 Just make it 8000 ft. Speaking as someone who's lived at 5000 and 8000, believe me, it makes a difference.... Not in the East... Snowshoe averages nearly 200" at 4800' and it a bit further south than most people in this forum. Garrett county averages 100" at ~3000' I really think the Pacific makes the west so warm that it doesn't snow much anywhere outside the mountains.... and the elevation needed for high snow totals is higher than it would be in the east.
