IWXwx
Radar looks good for a mini thump soon. Right now getting sl**t. It seems like the FWA area can't get a winter storm without a little sl%$t thrown in.

smoof
I had a few bursts of good snow again from that lake-enhanced stuff going across MI right now I hope I don't lose power when the 30mph wind gusts get going in an hour, the pine trees are all leaning a bit with almost 8" cement still caked on them and one pine tree was laying on the cable line thankfully it missed the power line and i still have internet lol. mimillman
The lake has truly worked its magic. It's been snowing all day here, the sun is just starting to peek out from behind the clouds but it may be a bit too late for it to do much harm before the arctic air comes in tonight. stormtrackertf
Cool, just started snowing. Still a little above freezing so it's only sticking on grassy/elevated surfaces, but it looks nice.

Powerball
That fine band that Chicago Storm outlined in his post above does look like a lake signature though. It's a little hard to spot at first since it's mixed in with all the other stuff. Well I can imagine some Lake Enhancement into NW Indiana, with the flow being of the NW. IT wasn't happening back in Illinois though...
buckeye
haven't even been paying attention to this. Just started flurrying here and it looks like a period of light snow moving in. So begins our new stretch of winter, (duration TBD)
smoof
Lake effect bands look to be ripping at about 30dbz in the lake belts now, good luck for anybody that gets under those, they always miss me
michsnowfreak
Its like I saw the airmass change before my eyes. Started as big feather flakes, accumulated quickly, now blowing sheets of light snow as the temp begins to drop. Not sure how much snow yet but its nice and white Probably not quite an inch but definitely more than a half inch.
Chicago Storm
Well I can imagine some Lake Enhancement into NW Indiana, with the flow being of the NW. IT wasn't happening back in Illinois though... That "band" and other elements were affecting the Cook Co shore initially, before pushing east. michsnowfreak
Gorgeous pics Geos. Make sure you post them in the pic thread! We got 0.8" of snow tonight (both imby & DTW) and a flash freeze. The roads are ice rinks, very dangerous. Wherever there is snow on the roads, its crunchy frozen snow, elsewhere its pure glass. Few breaks in the clouds and caught this pic
Geos
Thanks guys Last winter if I remember right I had to wait until April to get a wet snow that stuck on the trees well! That picture of yours Snow Freak looks almost mysterious with the way the moon is shining through the clouds in back of that tree. Very cool. Noticed some minor blowing and drifting on open roads late this afternoon. Wouldn't expect area road to "improve" overnight with falling temperatures.
