michsnowfreak
Not at all dogging what anybody likes, but tonight is the PERFECT example of why I say its always good to keep a snowpack no matter how crusty, dirty, whatever lol. Usually when snow gets old, I hear "melt this crust/glacier and lets start fresh". Its gorgeous outside....a little bit of fresh snow and the landscape is transformed into instant winter wonderland again. What would it look like if there had been no old snow on the ground? It would look like a Novembery pasting of snow with grass tips showing (as evidence by the bare areas that line the heavily traveled roads). tomorrow should be bitter but bright. Geos
Overall January was a cooler than normal month here with a departure of -1.90°. Highest temperature 43°, lowest -9°. 10.7" of snow which is a bit below normal. 1.22" of water (both rain and snow), 0.42" of that straight rain. cyclone77
January was a dry month QPF wise, but a decent amount of snow fell. Best snow was the clipper on Jan 5-6 that dropped 5.2".
