dendrite
Just got home... I-93N was all rain until about mile 49-50...just north of exit 18. For a mile or two it was +SN and the highway was a slushy mess. Then the precip let up before exit 19. At home now it's just -SN and 33F.
WeatherPredictingWoodchuck
Snow has been falling here since 11 AM. Roads are now snow coated and slick. At valley level (720' ASL) the temperature is 27.5 but a warm layer of air is moving in. The temperature at the county airport at 1188' is now 35.1. The snow is now mixing with sleet. I was only forecasting 5-10" for this initial WAA burst into tomorrow. That may come up short. Basically I was forecasting for the time frame the Winter Storm Warning was out. The ECMWF was intriguing later in the week.

KMPV 092012Z AUTO 00000KT 1/4SM +SN FZFG VV008 M03/M03 A3011 AO2 P0003 T10281033 Yeah it definitely was snowing pretty heavily here in that timeframe, shortly before sleetifying. HIPPYVALLEY
Steady light rain here now. Yeah, E NY and N. VT and even N NH are going to be the biggest busts. The Berkshires were a little bigger maybe for a plastering but still a disappointing turn of events. I was hoping S VT ski areas at least got in some good base building before the flip. I'm not holding my breath for the Euro depictions for tomorrow.
