snowstormcanuck
After a little break in returns around 13z, the HRRR/RAP are showing on a second surge of SN as the band begins to build back east, especially in the NW end of the city. GB is helping out big time. hrrr_ref_toronto_8.png I'm going to concede. My 2-3" call is going to bust badly. But my location of the + amounts may still verify. It does looks like the band will stall for a little while over the west end(meaford to hamilton) which was not expected by most. Nice job for picking up on this. Latest HRRR has an additional 0.4-0.5" across all of TO besides a small sliver of the E end along the lake. Major bust potential even on my more aggressive amounts... but who's complaining! Toronto4
I'd say a good 2-3" here in downtown Toronto. The downtown U of T automated station has recorded 0.20" (5.0 mm) of precip so far. http://mesowest.utah.edu/cgi-bin/droman/meso_base.cgi?stn=CXTO

Toronto4
One of the mets at the Weather Network, Dr. Doug Gillham, was just on air and said that final snow totals for the GTA could range from 15-20 cm (in the city) to 30-40 cm in the north (eg. Newmarket).
Snowstorms
About 9.2cm here in my area. Absolute blizzard outside. Visibility is down next to nothing.
blizzardof96
11cm down here so far. It's probably 13:1 ratio powder.

blizzardof96
After a brief brake, expecting some of the heavy banding to move back in from the north after ~10am in the GTA. Could add another 5-10cm on top of what has already fallen.
WestCoaster
9.8 cm on m snowboard! 13 cm on the grass for those who measure that way. Just goes to show that grass measurements are NOT accurate
WestCoaster
Visibility hasn't been crazy, certainly wouldn't call it blizzard conditions. Not even close

snowstormcanuck
Just came in from shovelling. Despite the winds not a ton of drifting which made measuring easier. 10.5cm/4.1". Much of that fell in the last couple of hours. Still snowing lightly.
snowstormcanuck
The infamous Nipher could end up low balling Pearson's final total because of the strong winds outside. Yeah but it highballed the events in Nov so we're going come out of this with an accurate seasonal total.

Yeah true, maybe to some extent it did highball the totals in November but i don't think they were that off. YKZ recorded 22.7cm in November, lol. Lets see. About 10cm here in my area now. YKZ recorded 22.7cm in November, lol. Lets see. About 10cm here in my area now. There's no debate about it. The 3.6cm that supposedly fell on Halloween and November 1 was nothing more than a faint coat of slush. I can't vouch for the other two events in mid November since I was in London at the time but based on what I saw in the news and in this thread, it was close if not a touch high. And what does YKZ's snow total have to do with anything? Jesus.
WestCoaster
I agree that YYZ has very high numbers for November. I only recorded 12 cm
Toronto4
The U of T station downtown recorded 10.0 cm in November. It looks like a deformation band is in the process of setting up. King City radar is showing heavier returns in the eastern parts of Toronto moving west.

And what does YKZ's snow total have to do with anything? Jesus. Lmao true. I probably got maybe 0.5cm with that Halloween event. And Idk, for some reason I've always had some discretion over YKZ's amounts. However, I could be totally wrong and it has excellent measuring capabilities. But let's not talk about that. Half way to Ryerson. Stopped at Tim Hortons. Not to bad but its alot slower than usual.
