dan123
I saw on Twitter that the 21z SREF trended up to 16" from 13" it was showing at 15z. Can anyone confirm?

Snowstorms
The Nam is a solid 15-20cm in the GTA. Edit: Thats through 39 hours and its still snowing.
snowstormcanuck
Well, I'm up to hr 36 on the EWALL site. Maybe it's the low resolution but it doesn't look quite as awesome as I was expecting. I don't *think* the uptick in QPF is going to be that great.

Snowstorms
Um, we were already there. So what's all this "looks amazing stuff". It looked good on the maps.. but were set for a solid 15-20cm atm. Edit: Nam shows 45-50cm for DTW/Windsor.

The SREF always way overdoes things and its ratios are on the high side. No way Toronto sees a foot from this.

WestCoaster
Moisture field is definitely further north at hour 27 (I'm still quite behind) but the system doesn't look any stronger.

WestCoaster
I will laugh if Windsor sees 2 feet of snow after receiving a forecast for 10 cm, 24 hours beforehand.
WestCoaster
I've been so busy looking at the models that I didn't realize King City radar right now. Maybe some flurries tonight.
WestCoaster
In Snowstorms' defence, not to argue but on hour 33 it does look like the low is over Cleveland? Certainly a nudge north of the 18Z. The problem is that damn gradient with the dry air to the north.

Honestly, I doubt they get much more than a foot (although with the way they measure at that airport, you never know). Medium amplitude, positively tilted trough doesn't scream historic snowfall to me, regardless of what the NAM clown maps are saying.

I never trust the NAM this close to an event in terms of QPF.

harrisale
Whole lotta posting before thinking in this thread. Simmer guys, let's not go all accuweather in here. North bumps will likely stop at this point. Smaller scale features will determine where the jackpot amounts are now.
