Ottawa Blizzard
Days and days of the coldest of rain. I'm not sure that solution is even possible. Christmas 1979 was apparently a wash-out in Toronto. 100 mm ( 4 ") of rain over December 24th and 25th!

michsnowfreak
Best climo for LES. Most mega LES storms are because of systems like this. Even if this storm does indeed turn up as a wound up rainmaker (assuming its the beast thats progged now), it almost certainly would have wraparound snow AND LES statewide
Rainman
after that exits, check out the 500, at 240. I saw that earlier. Lame. I dont have access to the ensemble members, but the EC ensemble mean shows a much broader trough over the western half of the CONUS indicating a lot of spread yet at 240. Stebo
No let's not start a thread for a storm that is still 8 days out. The last few threads have been garbage and started way too soon.
Rainman
13km GFS has had it for a while now. OP GFS is useless. The parallel GFS has not done much better overall. There have been a couple instances in the last 4 weeks when it was the last model to the party, even beaten out by the old GFS. An upgraded GFS is still the same old GFS.
